Postnatal Yoga

April 22, 2013
At last a Postnatal Yoga series at CYM has been organized!  This will be a five session series by subscription only; that is, you must register in advance for the five sessions.  I'm very enthusiastic about helping women recover physically and flourish emotionally after the birth of their baby.  I hope you can join me and the other moms for this special series.

Description:
My Postnatal Yoga class is intended as a time for the new mother to take care of herself and her recovering body while bonding with her baby.  It’s a comfortable and relaxed time among other mothers when the new mom can feel free to take care of her baby's needs while doing practices that will aide the transformation that her body is undergoing after pregnancy and birth.  Yogic breathing practices and poses with her baby will help the new mom learn techniques to help with the stress and anxiety that often comes with being a new mom (even if it is the second or third time).   In this class we will do lots of twists to pull things back together, shoulder and heart opening poses to open up those hunched shoulders and relieve back pain. Pelvic floor work to complement your work with the kiné.  We also will do core work and upper body strengthening and vinyasa flow.
I am trained in pre and postnatal yoga and have done a specialized workshop on the pelvic floor.

Each Friday from 13h45 to 14h45
Dates:
May 17th
May 24th
May 31st
June 7th
June 14th

Price:

90 Euros for the five sessions
*If you have classes left on your prenatal card, they can be applied to this series.

To reserve your spot, please send me an email sharon@yogabijaparis.com  You will be asked to send a check to confirm your spot, but that check will not be deposited until after the first class session.

Back to Yoga - autumn 2012

August 31, 2012
am back from a restorative and informative summer in the States and ready to share what I've learned with you and inspire you to deepen your practice this year.  I participated in two incredible workshops at Yogaville in Virignia over the summer.  The first was with Roger Cole, with whom I learned so much about human anatomy in yoga poses.  I've refined my teaching of several yoga poses in light of the tools and knowledge I gained from Roger.  The second was with Leslie Howard, a San ...

Fertility Workshop February 12th in English (French to follow soon!)

January 29, 2012
I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in a project to help women struggling with infertility.  The last decade of my life has been filled with experiences of struggles, studying, researching, learning, silent sadness, triumph, healing, reflecting and growing all related to infertility.  I'm excited now and honored to have the privilege of helping women who are now walking the daunting path that I once braved myself.  I'm also very happy to be partnering with two other wonderful ...

Holiday schedule 2011

December 18, 2011
I will be teaching both of my regular classes at Centre de Yoga du Marais during the break and going to as many classes as possible.  My privates are on as scheduled.  I will be in Paris, not shopping, not stressing, not rushing.  This year my end of the year holidays will be slow and my awareness will be on peace, forgiveness and gratitude.

Peace and joy,
Sharon

I feel sorry...

November 11, 2011
There is only one thing that hurts me.
If I feel I have caused anyone else’s unhappiness, I won’t be happy.
Until I see that person’s smiling face again, I will feel sorry.
-Swami Satchidananda

So, I will just continue to do my best to help others be happy.  To give my time, share my practice, teach my yoga practice, tell only the truth and work to be kind always.

Peace and joy.

Words of Wisdom

October 6, 2011
Two of the wisest men to ever live and whose works I never tire of studying.  These are the words that drive me each day at this point in my life.  Every day I realize that they are true and I can do this:

Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.

Dalai Lama

Every failure is a stepping stone for success.
Swami Satchidananda

Peace and joy.
